I’ve got some exciting news, Adam & I got a puppy! 🙂 He’s a Turkish Kangal, which is a unique breed that protects their live stalk from Turkey.
Saturday March 5th, we traveled 6 hours to New Jersey to pick up our little Enzo and we drove 8 hours back home, all in one day. Our puppy is such a good boy; other than getting car sick, he didn’t have any accidents in the car! We had to make multiple stops but that’s okay because we all needed to stretch our legs and go to the restrooms. Check out the video I made of our trip to pick Enzo up! 🙂
When we got home we had to give him a bath due to the fact that he was living in a barn with goats and his brothers & sisters, needless to say he smelled like a farm! Enzo definitely didn’t like the bath but he’s getting used to the water & baths. We didn’t put him in a crate while we were sleeping and he had no accidents! He let us know when he needed to go out and he held it in until we let him out, we couldn’t be more lucky to have such a smart puppy. We didn’t get much sleep that night, it was as if we had a new born except we had to let him go outside BUT he’s such a good puppy so it’s totally worth the no sleep!
We are definitely learning as well as Enzo, we’re learning how to take care of a new puppy and learning to be assertive when needed. Although he lets us know when he needs to go out to pee and he’s got such a great personality, he needs to learn how to behave in the house such as chewing things he’s not suppose to. Not everything is easy and it’s a learning experience for all of us.
Our Enzo is going to be HUUUUUUGE and I plan to document it. Be on the look out for more pictures and watch the journey of Enzo grow.
We brought him to a dog park in Hudson, it’s such an awesome park. You can walk your pup around this area of water and if you have children they can play on the playground, there’s a fenced in area where you can bring your dog as well; but Enzo isn’t old enough to go in.
We had gone with Adam’s sister, brother in law and niece. Adam and I started walking Enzo while they were at the playground (dogs aren’t allowed on the playground), every time a dog came up to us their owner asked us what kind of dog we have then they would comment on how big his paws are. It was as if we had a newborn baby and everyone wanted to come up to see it. It was so cute, I took a few pictures while we were there. There are so many walking paths that you could spend all day there! Enzo’s legs are still little so he got tired quickly, we had to carry him towards the end of the walk but we plan to go back again. He did really well with strangers & with other dogs! We’re so proud of our puppy, he’s been such a good boy.
