Stop comparing your successes to others.

Hello lovely readers,

Have you ever been so down in the dumps that you end up comparing anything and everything to yourself? Essentially raining on your own parade by thinking so negatively and not enjoying what’s actually happening in your life.

That’s how I am feeling right now. Typically I am a positive person. Heck, if you asked me how I felt three weeks ago I would have said “I AM FRICKEN HAPPY!”

Don’t get me wrong… I am so excited to be graduating with my bachelors degree in a short two weeks! It has been a long 7 years and it’s been a tough road for me to walk down but thinking negatively isn’t going to make this process enjoyable. That’s what I have to tell myself. Although it’s taken me this long to finish school the point is that I am going to finish! The other thing is that now being two weeks away from graduating, I have finally found what I truly want to do with my life. I want to own a successful photography business. Unfortunately,  I am struggling between getting my bachelors degree in psychology but wanting to pursue a career in business. Fortunately, I do own a business called Bianca Lynn Photography –follow on IG: @biancalynnphotography– however, I want to be able to put 100% into that business. I feel that while in college I wasn’t able to pursue it to the fullest. During this last semester of school being a part time student I have had extra time to put forth on my business. I have had a handful of clients that have asked me to take their photos and it’s really opened my eyes to how much I really LOVE doing this. I love being able to tell their story though photographs and overall just being able to express my creativity. With that being said it’s hard to put 100% into a business that is still on the ground while needing to work full time to move forward in life such as buying a house.

What I want you to take from this is, it’s okay to be on a different path than others, to want different things in life and to go through life at your own pace. Stop comparing yourself to others because all that it does is eat you alive. To know that it’s okay to change career paths even if you’re not sure about the end result. What matter’s the most is that YOU are happy doing what you LOVE.

Now, to conclude this post I want to say that, I wouldn’t change anything that I have done in my past to get me to where I am currently. Everything that has happened has shaped me into the human being that I am today; full of flaws and all. It might sound cliche but, I feel I am a stronger person now than I ever was. I have learned so much about not only myself but about life in general.

Here’s to a new chapter in my life 🙂 I hope that you stay to hear about my future successes that are to come!
